$41,939.00 – $50,327.00 Annually

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with attendance at evening and weekend special events

Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of a library branch/section. The manager supervises and oversees the public service operations of the branch library services including circulation, adult services, youth services and facilities maintenance. This position is responsible for scheduling and evaluating branch staff, participating on the library’s manager’s team, assisting and implementing programs/projects and serving on special committees or project teams as assigned by Library Administration. The person in this position should be detail-oriented, possess strong interpersonal communication skills, and work well independently and collaboratively. The Branch Manager should provide excellent customer service and engage the community. This includes working
the public service desk, answering reference/information questions, providing readers’ advisory services and helping Library Administration assess and positively address community needs. This position also helps manage the branch/section budget and the maintenance of the facility, equipment and furnishings. Coaching and development of staff and fostering teamwork is also a requirement of this position. This branch manager will manage the McGirt-Horton Branch and the Benjamin Branch Libraries.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree with 4-6 years of experience managing a library facility, operations and
distribution of library materials Or Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as (Education; History etc.) with 8-10 years of management or supervisory experience in a library setting
• 3 years of customer service experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
• Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS)
• Experience using library ILS (i.e. Horizon)
• Community outreach experience
• 5-7 years of customer service experience
• Supervisory experience
• Bilingual (oral and written fluency)

This job is Exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards
