WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday / 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
SALARY RANGE: $48,558.57 – $75,314.61

An employee in this class assists in supervision and management of Library services, with focus on technology, grants, public relations and information, adult cultural events and programs, and staff training, and supervises Circulation services. Work includes tasks such as; developing and managing special projects; promoting community engagement; establishes and maintains effective working relationship with community organizations; directing library services to adults; developing and managing grant projects; directing operations of Circulation Department; and directing operations of Library Information System. The employee researches and recommends programs and objectives, assists in planning programs and services to meet the Library’s needs and interests, and serves in the absence of the Library Director. Work is performed independently under the supervision of the Library Director, and is evaluated through conferences, reports, quality and quantity of services delivered and daily observation.


Master’s Degree in Library Science from an-accredited ALA Library School and considerable experience in library work at the professional level and including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a North Carolina Public Library Certification. Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
