SALARY: This is a twelve-month academic librarian appointment; salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Standard state benefits of annual leave, sick leave, and State or optional retirement plan. QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program in library or information science, or a related advance degree.
• Strong background in the humanities and humanities information sources.
• Up-to-date knowledge of digital scholarship tools and trends.
• At least two years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with classroom teaching, training, or library instruction.
• Experience using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to excel in a dynamic, collaborative, team-based environment.
• Strong commitment to user-centered services.

PREFERRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience applying Digital Humanities tools and methodologies with students and faculty.
• Advanced degree in a humanities discipline.
• Coursework or experience working with scholars in one or more of the following subject areas: American Studies, Religious Studies, Classics, Literature, Philosophy, History.

DUTIES: The University Libraries at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a Humanities Research and Digital Instruction Librarian to support humanities research, teaching, and learning at Carolina.

The Humanities Research and Digital Instruction Librarian will offer innovative instruction and course development support, and will have demonstrated experience applying methodologies of digital pedagogy in support of teaching and learning. This position will provide research consultations for both traditional and digital humanities research and projects in collaboration with the UNC Libraries’ Research Hub staff, facilitate digital scholarship projects and extend relationships with campus partners. The Humanities Research and Digital Instruction Librarian will develop training and serve as a resource for subject librarians who want to incorporate digital projects in teaching and learning. The successful candidate will build strong partnerships and deepen engagement with faculty, staff, students, community members, and other scholars across disciplines; and will serve as liaison to academic departments and centers based on background and expertise.

The Humanities Research and Digital Instruction Librarian will join a collaborative and service-oriented Research and Instructional Services Department that supports teaching, learning, and research in the humanities, social sciences, and the arts.
